Off Coniscliffe Road, this park is right next to the River Tees. There is a free car park here next to a play and picnic area. Broken Scar weir is located adjacent to the park and can also be the start of a circular walk part of the Teesdale Way along the river and back along Blackwell, Carmel Road South and Coniscliffe Road to the car park which is approx 3.1 miles.

A short walk from this location is the Baydale Beck pub and the Tees Cottage Pumping Station https://www.teescottage.co.uk/. The first part of the path has large mature trees then open spaces with good access to the river for picnics.
