Skerne Bridge Nature Reserve 

This small nature reserve is located off North Road. Its main feature apart from its small footprint is that it is next to the famous Skerne Bridge, a famous railway bridge for the Darlington to Stockton Railway access can be gained at the following:

Adjacent  to the nature reserve is the recently built car park servicing Hopetown Railway Museum which is located the other side of North Road. 

If you follow the path along the Skerne North you will get to Rockliffe Nature Reserve and Haughton passing under a much larger railway bridge know as the five arches. This connection provides a good walk and a valuable wildlife corridor.
