Visitors can enjoy a run, walk or pleasant bike ride along the winding path, enjoy a play area or look for butterflies in the wildflower meadows. With Cocker Beck running through the length of this green space and many wooded areas and some wetland and ponds this supports a variety of wildlife over 11.89 Ha. This provides a valuable wildlife corridor to the edge of Darlington from the Denes and through Cockerton. Further amenities are available further out of the town with a bolder play area and outdoor gym. Recent planting has been carried out with a Cherry Tree avenue towards Wyvern Academy.
